Traktor: I loved Traktor but I had to abandon the software since there was no music video support.I have to admit though, It its the most versatile, most stable, and very feature packed. I have used most of the software commonly used. Both are low monetary points of entry if you just want to practice at home, do small gigs, and then later you can invest in a new kit. The early versions of Traktor also work on the older laptops and macs. I know a cat that has a G4 laptop, an SL1 box, and still does gigs wi try it. There is a version of SL that will work with whatever Windoze version you have. Sadly my trusty MSI Wind died.Īlso, if you don't have a new computer, you can get an SL1 box and use the older versions of ScratchLive software and it just works. Maybe it's the computer? Serato ScratchLive and DJ pro have never given me a problem with this. There have been many instances where it hangs when loading a track. One negative thing I will say about Traktor is that it does some odd things that make me not want to use it at large gigs. Serato for quick mixing & instant doubles. Also started using Traktor shortly after. I haven't used Rekordbox so I cannot comment on it but I have been using Serato software since 2004.
